BOCA RATON, FL ‘“ Levitt Capital Management, LLC (LCM), based here, has hired David Alexander Jefferds, CFA, as its new Managing Director of Investments to replace Warren Buhai, who departs to return to his native South Africa, it was announced by Robert Levitt, Founder and Chief Investment Officer. Mr. Jefferds officially began at LCM January 16, 2009.
Mr. Levitt said, ‘We are sorry to see Warren Buhai depart, but happy to have the talents of David Jefferds to fill the role.’
In reply, Mr. Jefferds, said, ‘I look forward to my work at LCM during this challenging time in the financial markets.’
Mr. Jefferds has 14 years of financial industry experience and will be responsible for overseeing the investment staff and portfolio management, as well as trading, research and analysis.
Previously he was Managing Director and Portfolio Manager for Vanquish Capital Group, LLC. While there he managed and negotiated the creation of CLO Plus, LLC, a long-only, $50 million structured credit joint venture dedicated to sourcing loan collateral efficiently for a $10 billion+ cash loan manager.
Prior to Vanquish, he was a Senior Analyst and Correlation Trader for SGS/Epsilon Investment Management, LLC, where he traded and analyzed structured credit strategies for the asset manager.
He graduated Cum Laude from Harvard Law School and Cum Laude from Princeton University with a Bachelor of Arts from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs. He is fluent in Spanish.
